Bolt pattern is the first gate on whether a wheel fits, not the last. After the pattern, the hub bore has to be at least the vehicle's hub diameter (hub rings fill the gap when it is larger), the lug seat has to match the wheel (cone, ball or flat), and the width and offset have to clear the suspension and the fender. The wheels page filters to your pattern automatically once a vehicle is picked.
Questions people ask
- What does 6x139.7 mean?
- Six lug holes on a 139.7 mm bolt circle. The second number is the diameter of the imaginary circle through the center of the lug holes. 139.7 mm is 5.5 inches, so 6x139.7 and 6x5.5 are the same pattern.
- Is 5x5 the same as 5x127?
- Yes. 5 inches is 127 mm. Jeep Wrangler JK, JL and Gladiator use 5x5 / 5x127.
- Is 5x114.3 the same as 5x115?
- No, and this one catches people. 0.7 mm of difference is enough to stress the studs and seat the lugs wrong. Chrysler 5x115 and the common 5x114.3 (5x4.5) are not interchangeable without the right wheel.
- Can I use adapters to change bolt pattern?
- Adapters exist, but they add width (which changes offset), add a second set of fasteners to torque and check, and on a daily driver they are not something we recommend. The wheels list on this site filters to your pattern so you do not need them.
- How do I measure a bolt pattern?
- For 4, 6 and 8 lugs, measure center to center across two opposite holes. For 5 lugs, measure from the back edge of one hole to the center of the hole two over, or use the chart above by vehicle.
